A family adventure
I’m supposed to be traveling over the weekend to Lagos. I had it in mind that I would be traveling alone leaving the kids at home with my husband. It’s only a day or two so he should be able to cope if everything is well laid out for him. I thought it would be a good learning experience for him. So much for my theory! Looks like he had a light bulb moment today and decided that all of us should go together. After all, I would be in a hotel so we wouldn’t inconvenience anyone.
I know the kids will be absolutely delighted but I haven’t told them yet because they’ll ask me a thousand questions before the weekend comes around.
A slightly uncharitable thought is trying to intrude into my mind - is this just a sweet gesture so I won’t miss the kids and vice versa, or is it a calculated attempt to get out of taking care of the kids all on his own ? Get thee behind me! I prefer to think it is a sweet thought on hubby’s part. I know we’ll have lots of fun even though I’m going for an exam. The kids haven’t been to Lagos before and this will be an adventure for them, and adventures are always more fun when they’re shared by the people you love.
